There is another way for Americans when buying property in Mexico. This process is different to the fideicomiso system. This process is through a Mexican corporation. The company can be 100% owned by an American.


Yes. You can transfer the property to someone else. You can also have another person inherit the property. This is something you can arrange with your Mexican lawyer who helps you formalize these details for you.


The most important thing in this process is to involve a reliable and trustworthy lawyer. They will help you review and verify the land deed before paying for the property. Getting your property registered is anywhere between 48 to 108 days.
